LLAMAMIENTO DE ORGANIZACIONES CUBANAS E INTERNACIONALES CON SEDE EN CUBA EN SOLIDARIDAD CON EL PUEBLO PALESTINO, EN OCASIÓN DE CONMEMORARSE EL ANIVERSARIO 40 DEL DÍA DEL PRISIONERO.
Una vez más, Cuba responde al llamado del heroico pueblo palestino en solidaridad con la causa de sus prisioneros, la cual exige del apoyo de todos los luchadores por la paz y la autodeterminación de las naciones.
Cada año la conmemoración del Día del Prisionero convoca a la movilización en numerosas regiones del mundo, clamando por el derecho a la libertad que tienen los ciudadanos de este pueblo a defender libremente sus ideas, sin que ello suponga un delito.
Demandamos hoy la liberación de los más de 6000 prisioneros palestinos, la mayoría de ellos políticos, entre los que se encuentran mujeres y niños menores de edad, sin el menor respeto a las leyes internacionales. Cada año unos 700 niños palestinos de entre 12 y 17 años son arrestados, interrogados y detenidos por el ejército, la policía y los agentes de seguridad de Israel sin la más mínima distinción con respecto al resto de los detenidos.
A lo anterior se suman las pésimas condiciones carcelarias a las que son sometidos, donde carecen de un trato digno y del derecho a la atención médica, por mínima que esta sea. Son trasladados cada cierto tiempo de una prisión a otra desestabilizándolos psicológicamente e impidiendo durante años que sus familiares conozcan su paradero y puedan visitarlos. El número de las llamadas detenciones administrativas se incrementan anualmente, método que aplica Israel para recordarle a los palestinos que el encarcelamiento y maltrato a sus ciudadanos son la clave para el control de los territorio ocupados.
Es inadmisible que lo que constituye un peligro real para sus vidas, la huelga de hambre, resulte el único método de exigencia que queda a los prisioneros para demandar sus derechos a las autoridades carcelarias.
Con el Día del Prisionero Palestino se pretende demostrar al mundo que Palestina y los pueblos que apoyan su resistencia jamás dejarán de luchar por la excarcelación de los miles de prisioneros de las mazmorras sionistas.
Cuba continuará reconociendo el derecho de este pueblo hermano al reconocimiento internacional, como miembro pleno de la Organización de Naciones Unidas y con acceso a todas las organizaciones internaciones que por derecho le corresponden.
Hacemos un llamado al Movimiento Internacional de Solidaridad con Palestina a mantenerse unido y firme en el acompañamiento a esta causa hasta lograr la victoria definitiva.
Los abajo firmantes nos comprometemos a divulgar lo aquí expresado por los canales correspondientes, exigiendo sea Palestina un Estado soberano al que puedan retornar todos los refugiados, se libere a sus prisioneros, tenga derecho a la autodeterminación y sea Jerusalén Este la anhelada capital de todos los palestinos.

CALL OF CUBAN AND INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE MARKING THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PRISONER’S DAY
Once more, Cuba responds to the call of the heroic Palestinian people in solidarity with the cause of its prisoners, which demands the support of all those who struggle for peace and self-determination of the nations.
Each year, the commemoration of the Prisoner’s Day convokes to the mobilization in numerous world regions, demanding the right enjoyed by the citizens of this people to freely defend their ideas without implying the commitment of a crime.
Today we demand the liberation of more than 6,000 Palestinian prisoners, the majority of them are political prisoners, among which are women and children who are treated without the slightest respect to international laws. Each year around 700 Palestinian children between 12 and 17 years of age are arrested, interrogated and detained by the army, police and security agents of Israel without the least distinction with regard to the remaining detained persons.
In addition are the dreadful conditions to which they are submitted in prison, where they lack a worthy treatment and do not receive even the slightest medical attention. After a certain period of time they are transferred from one prison to another, which provokes their psychological destabilization and prevents their relatives from knowing their location and visiting them. The number of the so-called administrative detentions increases annually; that method is enforced by Israel to remind the Palestinians that imprisonment and cruel treatment to their citizens are the key to control the occupied territories.
It is inadmissible that the hunger strike –which represents a real danger to their life– continues to be the only method of the prisoners to demand to the prison authorities in pursuit of their rights.
The purpose of the Day of the Palestinian Prisoner is to show the world that Palestine and the peoples that support their resistance will never stop fighting for the release from prison of the thousands of prisoners who are in Zionist dungeons.
Cuba will continue to support the right to international recognition of this brotherly people as full member of the United Nations, with access to all international organizations it is entitled to.
We call the international movement in solidarity with Palestine to remain united and firm in the support to this cause until achieving the definitive victory.
We, the undersigned, commit ourselves to disseminate the contents of this declaration through the respective channels, demanding that Palestine be considered a sovereign state where all refugees may return, that its prisoners be released, that it be granted the right to self-determination and that East Jerusalem become the dreamt capital of all Palestinians.
