La erosión de la matriz en las relaciones

Hoy en el mundo hay mucha gente, de las más distintas procedencias, preocupada por la crisis actual que engloba un conjunto de otras crisis. Cada una trae luz. Y toda luz es creadora. Pero, por mi parte, que vengo de la filosofía y de la teología, siento la necesidad de una reflexión que vaya más hondo, a las raíces, donde lentamente ella se originó y que hoy estalla con toda su virulencia. A diferencia de otras crisis anteriores, ésta tiene una particularidad: en ella está en juego el futuro de la vida y la continuidad de nuestra civilización. Nuestras prácticas están yendo contra el curso evolutivo de la Tierra. Ésta nos ha creado un lugar amigable para vivir pero nosotros no nos estamos mostrando amigables con ella. Le hacemos una guerra sin tregua en todos los frentes, sin ninguna posibilidad de vencer. Ella puede continuar sin nosotros. Nosotros, sin embargo, la necesitamos.
Estimo que el origen próximo (no vamos a retroceder hasta el homo faber de hace 2 millones de años) se encuentra en el paradigma de la modernidad que fragmentó lo real y lo transformó en un objeto de ciencia y en un campo de intervención técnica. Hasta entonces la humanidad se entendía normalmente como parte de un cosmos vivo y lleno de sentido, sintiéndose hijo e hija de la Madre Tierra. Ahora ésta ha sido rebajada a un almacén de recursos. Las cosas y los seres humanos están desconectados entre sí, siguiendo cada cual un curso propio. Este giro produjo una concepción mecanicista y atomizada en la realidad que está erosionando la continuidad de nuestras experiencias y la integridad de nuestra psique (mentalidad, inconsciente) colectiva.
La secularización de todas las esferas de la vida nos quitó el sentimiento de pertenencia a un Todo mayor. Estamos descentrados y sumergidos en una profunda soledad. Lo opuesto a una visión espiritual del mundo no es el materialismo o el ateísmo, es el desenraizamiento y el sentimiento de que estamos solos y perdidos en el universo, cosa que una visión espiritual del mundo impedía.
Este conjunto de cuestiones subyace tras la actual crisis. Para salir de ella, necesitamos reencantar el mundo y percibir la Matriz Relacional (Relational Matrix) en erosión, que nos envuelve a todos. Estamos urgidos a comprender el significado del proyecto humano en el interior de un universo en evolución/creación. Las nuevas ciencias después de Einstein, de Heisenberg/Bohr, de Prigogine y de Hawking nos han mostrado que todas las cosas se encuentran interconectadas unas con otras de tal forma que forman un Todo.
Los átomos y las partículas elementales no son ya consideradas inertes y sin vida. Los microcosmos emergen como un mundo altamente interactivo, que no es posible describir mediante el lenguaje humano, sino solamente por la vía de la matemática. Forman una unidad compleja en la cual cada partícula está ligada a todas las demás y eso desde los inicios de la aventura cósmica hace 13,7 miles de millones de años. Materia y mente aparecen misteriosamente entrelazadas, siendo difícil discernir si la mente surge de la materia o la materia de la mente, o si surgen conjuntamente. La propia Tierra se muestra viva (Gaia), articulando todos los elementos para garantizar las condiciones ideales para la vida. En ella más que la competencia funciona la cooperación de todos con todos. Ella muestra un impulso hacia la complejidad, la diversidad y la irrupción de la conciencia en niveles cada vez más complejos, hasta su expresión actual a través de las redes de conexión globales, dentro de un proceso de mundialización creciente.
Esta cosmovisión nos alimenta la esperanza de otro mundo posible, a partir de un cosmos en evolución que a través de nosotros siente, piensa, crea, ama y busca un equilibrio permanente. Las ideas-maestras como interdependencia, comunidad de vida, reciprocidad, complementariedad y corresponsabilidad son claves de lectura y alimentan en nosotros una visión más armoniosa de las cosas.
Esta cosmología es lo que falta hoy. Ella tiene la propiedad de proporcionarnos una visión coherente del universo, de la Tierra y de nuestro lugar en el conjunto de los seres, como guardianes y cuidadores de todo lo creado. Esta cosmovisión nos impedirá caer en un abismo sin vuelta atrás. En las crisis pasadas, la Tierra siempre se mostró a favor nuestro, salvándonos. Y ahora no va a ser diferente. Juntos, nosotros y ella, sinérgicamente podremos triunfar.

Many people in the world today, from very different backgrounds, are concerned by the present crisis, which includes a number of other crises. Each one sheds some light, and all that light is creative. But, as for myself, coming from a background in philosophy and theology, I feel the need for a reflection that goes deeper, to the roots, where the crisis that is now exploding with such virulence developed slowly. In contrast to previous crises, the present one has a singular characteristic: in it, the future of life and the continuity of our civilization are at stake. Our practices contravene the evolutionary course of the Earth. The Earth has created a friendly place for us to live, but we are not being very friendly to the Earth. We wage a never ending war against her, on all fronts, with no possibility of winning. The Earth can continue without us. We, however, need the Earth.
I think the closest roots, (we will not go back to the homo faber of 2 million years ago), are found in the paradigm of modernity that dissected reality, and transformed it into a scientific object and field of technological intervention. Until then, humanity generally understood itself as part of a living cosmos, full of meaning. They considered themselves to be the sons and daughters of Mother Earth. Now, Mother Earth has been demoted to a warehouse of resources. Things and human beings are disconnected from each other, each following its own course. This has produced a mechanical and atomistic conception of reality that is eroding the continuity of our development, and the integrity of our collective psyche.
The secularization of all the spheres of life took from us the sense of belonging to a larger Whole. We are ill-adjusted and submerged in a profound loneliness. The opposite of a spiritual vision of the world is not materialism or atheism, it is an uprootedness, and a feeling that we are alone and lost in the universe, something that is not present in a spiritual vision of the world.
These issues underlie the present crisis. To resolve it, we need to again be enchanted by the world, and recognize that the Relational Matrix, that involves us all, is eroding. We must understand the meaning of the future of humanity within a universe still in evolution/creation. The new sciences after Einstein, Heisenberg/Bohr, Prigogine and Hawking have shown us that everything is interconnected in such a way that it forms a Whole.
Atoms and elemental particles are no longer considered inert and lifeless. The microcosms emerge as a highly interactive world, one that cannot be described by human language, but only through mathematics. They form a complex unit in which each particle has been linked to all others, since the beginnings of the cosmic adventure some 13.7 billion years ago. Matter and mind mysteriously appeared, intertwined, and it is difficult to know whether mind came from matter, or matter came from mind; or if both appeared jointly. The Earth herself is alive (Gaia), containing all the elements to ensure ideal conditions for life. More than competitively, the Earth functions through cooperation of all with all. She shows an impulse towards complexity, diversity, and the appearance of consciousness at ever more complex levels, until her current expression through the networks of global connections within a process of growing globalization.
This cosmovision nourishes in us the hope that another world is possible, starting from a cosmos in evolution that, through us, feels, thinks, creates, loves and seeks a permanent equilibrium. The fundamental ideas, such as interdependency, community of life, reciprocity, complementarity and co-responsibility are keys of learning and nourish in us a more harmonious vision of things.
This cosmology is what is missing now. It has the ability to give us a coherent vision of the universe, of the Earth and of our place in the gathering of all beings, as guardians and protectors of all that is created. This cosmovision will prevent our falling into an abyss, with no return. In past crises, the Earth always came to our rescue, saving us. And it will not be different now. Together, we and the Earth, in synergy, will be able to triumph.
