The feminine came first

This writing seeks to make a small contribution to the debate about the feminine, which has been greatly distorted by the dominant patriarchal culture. For starters, as we have already said: the feminine came first. Let us see how the feminine arose in the process of sexual determination. There were several stages.
Life on Earth has existed for 3.8 billion years. The common predecessor of all living things probably was a single cell bacteria with no nucleus, which spontaneously reproduced itself by internal division. This occurred for about one billion years.
Two billion years ago, a cell arose with a membrane and two nuclei, within which there were chromosomes. The origin of the sexes is found in that cell. When the exchange of nuclei between two dual-nuclei cells occurred, only one nucleus with pairs of chromosomes was created. Before that, the cells would sub-divide themselves; now the exchange took place between two different cells, each with its own nuclei. A cell sexually reproduces when an encounter with another cell takes place. This is symbiosis --the composition of different elements-- that, along with natural selection, represents the most important force of evolution. This fact has philosophical consequences: life is made more of exchanges, cooperation and symbiosis, than of a competitive struggle for survival.
In the first two billion years, in the oceans where life arose, there were no specific sexual organs. There was a generalized feminine existence that created life in the great uterus of the oceans, lakes and rivers. In that sense we can say that the feminine principle is the first and the original.
Only when living beings left the sea did the penis arise, something masculine, that in contact with the feminine could pass to her part of his DNA, where the genes are.
When the vertebrates appeared, 370 million years ago, with the reptiles the amniotic egg developed, filled with nutrients. This consolidated life on dry land. With the appearance of the mammals, some 125 million years ago, a defined sexuality of male and female arose. Then emerged the caring, love and protection of the young. 70 million years ago our ancestral mammals appeared, who lived in the thick tree tops, gaining nourishment from buds and flowers. With the extinction of the dinosaurs, 67 million of years ago, our ancestors gained access to the soil, and developed up to our present days.
There is also the human genetic-cellular sex with the following framework: the woman has 22 pairs of somatic chromosomes plus two X (XX) chromosomes. The man also has 22 pairs, but with only one X chromosome and another Y chromosome (XY). From this it follows that the base-sex is feminine (XX) being that the masculine (XY) represents a derivation from the feminine by one chromosome (Y). Consequently, there is no absolute sex, only a dominant one. In each of us, men and women, there exists "a second sex".
Still in reference to the genital-gonadal sex, it is important to note that, in its first weeks, the embryo appears androgynous, that is, it possesses both sexual possibilities, feminine and masculine. In terms of genital-gonadal sex we can say that the feminine path is primordial. Starting at the eight week, if a masculine chromosome Y penetrates the feminine ovule, the sexual definition will be masculine, through the androgen hormone. If nothing occurs, the feminine common base will prevail. This differentiation from the feminine base discredits the vain "Adam principle". The route to the masculine is by modifying the feminine matrix, through the androgen secretion of the testicles.
Finally, there is the hormonal sex. All the sexual glands in the man and the woman are controlled by the pituitary gland, or hypophysis, which is sexually neutral, and by the hypothalamus, which is sexual. In the man and the woman these glands secrete two hormones: the androgen (masculine) and the estrogen (feminine). They are responsible for the secondary characteristics of sexuality. The predominance of one or the other hormone will produce a configuration and behavior with feminine or masculine characteristics. If there is major influx of estrogen in the man, he will have some feminine traits; the same happens with the woman with reference to androgen.
It is important to point out that sexuality has an ontological dimension. The human being does not «have» a sex. The human being «is» sexual in all its corporal, mental and spiritual dimensions. Until the emergence of sexuality, the world was of the same and identical. With sexuality, differentiation emerged, though exchanges between the different. They are different so as to be able to interrelate and establish bonds of coexistence. This is what happens with human sexuality: each one, besides the instinctive force felt within oneself, also feels the need to channel and sublimate that force. The desire to love and to be loved, not by imposition but for liberty. Sexuality flows into love, the most powerful of forces, "that moves heaven and the stars" (Dante) and also our hearts. Is the supreme realization that human beings can long for. But let's end with this: the feminine was first and is the basis.

El presente texto quiere ser una pequeña contribución al debate sobre lo femenino, tan distorsionado por la cultura patriarcal dominante. De salida ya afirmamos: lo femenino fue primero. Veamos cómo surgió en el proceso de la sexogénesis. Varias son las etapas.
La vida ya existe en la tierra hace 3.800 millones de años. El antepasado común de todos los vivientes fue probablemente una bacteria unicelular sin núcleo que se multiplicaba espantosamente por división interna. Esto duró cerca de mil millones de años.
Hace dos mil millones de años, surgió una célula con membrana y dos núcleos, dentro de los cuales se encontraban los cromosomas. En ella se identifica el origen del sexo. Cuando ocurría el intercambio de núcleos entre dos células binucleadas, se generaba un solo núcleo con los cromosomas en pares. Antes, las células se subdividían; ahora se da el intercambio entre dos diferentes con sus núcleos. La célula se reproduce sexualmente a partir del encuentro con otra célula. Se revela así la simbiosis –composición de diferentes elementos– que, junto con la selección natural, representa la fuerza más importante de la evolución. Este hecho tiene consecuencias filosóficas: la vida está hecha más de intercambios, de cooperación y simbiosis, que de la lucha competitiva por la supervivencia.
En los dos primeros mil millones de años, en los océanos de donde irrumpió la vida, no había órganos sexuales específicos. Existía una existencia femenina generalizada que, en el gran útero de los océanos, lagos y ríos, generaba vidas. En ese sentido podemos decir que el principio femenino es el primero y el originario.
Sólo cuando los seres vivos dejaron el mar, lentamente surgió el pene, algo masculino, que tocando la célula pasaba a ella parte de su ADN, donde están los genes.

Está también el sexo genético-celular humano que presenta el siguiente cuadro: la mujer se caracteriza por 22 pares de cromosomas somáticos más dos cromosomas X (XX). El hombre posee también 22 pares, pero con sólo un cromosoma X y otro Y (XY). De ahí se desprende que el sexo-base es femenino (XX) siendo que el masculino (XY) representa una derivación de él por un solo cromosoma (Y). Por lo tanto, no hay un sexo absoluto, sólo un dominante. En cada uno de nosotros, hombres y mujeres, existe "un segundo sexo".
Todavía en referencia al sexo genital-gonadal, es importante darse cuenta de que, en las primeras semanas, el embrión se presenta andrógino, o sea, posee ambas posibilidades sexuales, femenina y masculina. En términos de sexo genital-gonadal podemos decir: el camino feminino es primordial. A partir de la octava semana, si un cromosoma masculino Y penetra en el óvulo femenino, la definición sexual será masculina, mediante la hormona andrógina. Si no ocurre nada, prevalecerá la base común, femenina. A partir de lo femenino se da la diferenciación, lo que desautoriza el fantasioso "principio de Adán". La ruta de lo masculino es una modificación de la matriz femenina, por medio de la secreción de andrógeno por los testículos.
Por último, está el sexo hormonal. Todas las glándulas sexuales en el hombre y en la mujer son comandadas por la hipófisis, sexualmente neutra y por el hipotálamo que es sexuado. Estas glándulas secretan en el hombre y en la mujer las dos hormonas: el andrógino (masculino) y el estrógeno (femenino). Son responsables de las características secundarias de la sexualidad. La predominancia de una u otra hormona, producirá una configuración y un comportamiento con características femeninas o masculinas. Si en el hombre hay una impregnación mayor del estrógeno, tendrá algunos rasgos femeninos; el mismo se da con la mujer con referencia al andrógeno.
Es importante señalar que la sexualidad tiene una dimensión ontológica. El ser humano no «tiene» sexo. «Es» sexuado en todas sus dimensiones, corporales, mentales y espirituales. Hasta la emergencia de la sexualidad el mundo es de los mismos y de los idénticos. Con la sexualidad emerge la diferenciación por el intercambio entre diferentes. Son diferentes para poder interrelacionarse y establecer lazos de convivencia. Es lo que ocurre con la sexualidad humana: cada uno, además de la fuerza instintiva que siente en sí, siente también la necesidad de canalizar y sublimar tal fuerza. Quiere amar y ser amado, no por imposición sino por libertad. La sexualidad desemboca en el amor, la fuerza más poderosa "que mueve el cielo y las estrellas" (Dante) y también nuestros corazones. Es la suprema realización que el ser humano puede anhelar. Pero quedémonos con esto: lo femenino fue primero y es básico.
